Pros

Some buildings allow dogs at work

Cons

Amazon hired people for full remote jobs, then decided they need to start going to an office. Some organizations required cross-country relocation or "voluntary resignation" if you couldn't move. I guess hybrid wasn't good enough so there's 5 days in office starting January 2nd 2025. Ironic that it is the 2nd day of the year, like how Amazon is a "day-2" company. Not too surprising given how the drivers and warehouse staff have been treated for years

Pros

The opportunity to be mentored by the best engineers in the world. Solving big, interesting problems at unbelivable scale

Cons

Organizations can get hyper-focused on metrics and it feels a little like you're in a fish bowl. Working at a company as big as Amazon, you feel like a very small and insignificant piece of a very large entity. It is very hard to get promoted

Pros

Fast paced environment where it is easy to present your ideas and work on latest tech

Cons

Some orgs have succumbed to politics. Favoritism prevails and toxicity increases
