Pros

Company growth and stock options

Cons

No work life balance. This company requires you to work 10-12 hours a day 6 days a week and travel over 75 miles each day to various locations. This was not what was presented to me when I accepted the job. I was told Monday thru Friday 8-5. Guess it’s their way to get people to work these types of roles. When I questioned how this happened I was told by a Sr. HR Manager that this is the Amazon way; sink or swim and not meant for most people. I would agree since most people want to have some time away from work; not live at work and be treated with respect. Oh and you get a whole 5 days vacation for a year. Not sure when you can use it if your working 6 days a week.

Pros

Some of your peers are nice.

Cons

There are a lot of cons. The encouragement of micromanaging, the use of scare tactics, the lack of communication, lack of transparency, the cult of personality. One of the worst things about TRMS in Cork is the complete lack of competent managers at all levels. There is a terrible clique of one L4 manager and several L5 managers that are implementing a call centre style of management to the department. This is primarily because it is all they know and therefore think that it works well in all situations. It doesn't and that is why the site is losing people on a weekly basis. There is also a metric for everything. As a manager you are given access to a dashboard that tracks your team members' performance in all areas. This is not a pro, it is a tool that is used to create a climate of fear. There is a Gantt chart that will show you how much of a robot someone is. There is also barley any recognition for achievements. If you do something well don't expect it to come up in your annual review.

Culture of fear

Pros

Nice colleagues- made some good friends there Good Laya health insurance package Sometimes you get free stuff like ice cream and fruit

Cons

I felt like there was a culture of fear there. Employees were terrified of making mistakes. There were rumours that some employees were let go just because they had some mistakes in their quality. This is not right. People make mistakes and should be given the opportunity to learn from them. Every minute of your day is counted. You get 30 minutes for lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. If you exceed your break time you will get an email saying you exceeded it. Meeting time is also very strict and managers seem to be terrified of going over time. For example when our team had 15 minutes allocated for meeting time once the 15 minutes were up our manager told us to quickly get back to our desks and change back to available. There is no flexibility whatsoever. There are no public holidays for Cork office. You are even expected to work on Christmas day. Communication in the company is very poor. Things are constantly changing but employees are never really given reasons for the changes. They are just told that's the way it is now. The office environment isn't very nice. There are very few windows and hardly any natural light. The fluorescent lights are very harsh. I felt like teamwork wasn't really encouraged. Everybody was too worried about their own IPH (investigations per hour) and couldn't really take time to help others (Even though most people were very nice and would have liked to help others) . I feel this is a very individualistic culture (typical American culture).
