Pros

Great, sharp, smart people - most of whom are willing to be helpful, have energy, work hard and are full of team spirit.

Cons

Back-stabbing, internal politics, very little people manager opportunities, jack-of-all-trades approach means you spend lots of time doing menial and unfulfilling tasks you probably did much earlier in your career. Very poorly defined career paths. The most popular level position is filled with tons and tons of people with a huge range of years of experience. Lack of levels and poorly defined positions/roles. If you are early in your career and join, you will probably like it and be energized by culture and work. If you are coming from years at other companies, beware to feel like you've taken a huge step down in your role / nature of day to day work; may find it demeaning and the lack of structure frustrating.

Pros

Joining Pay looks Good Initially Lots of learning will be here

Cons

There are lots of cons about this company and few i am listing here. 1. There is no work life balance in this company. They will load hell lots of work on employee where employee have to work 14-15 hours per day. Even weekend will be sacrificed due to tons of work. 2. Organizations says we don't follow bell curve but internally they will strictly follow it. HR BP partner will ask manager to put 10% of the employee in the team in (Dev + PIP ) plan, so manager will be looking for the scapegoat to whom they can put in Dev plan. The smallest of the mistake employee do they will make their life hell and put them in PIP plan and ask lots of activity to do to come out of dev plan. Literally they will grilled the employee and treat them like a slave. This unfair treatment is more to India employee compared to onshore employee. 3. Employee here doing a great job so the company is growing but during appraisal time they will have n number of reason for not giving a base salary hike. They will say shares prices are increasing so no hike for you. 4. They have three salary component (Base+Joining Bonus for 2 years+ shares) . so in general employee effective salary will be the same for 4-5 years and after 2 years drastic drop in salary and after four years even further. 5. Totally manager driven company and no role of HR BP. Managers likes boot licking employee and ignores the actual talent Will advise all to think twice before joining Amazon.. Don't look just the initial compensation because here your work life balance will be sacrificed and health will be in toss due to stress. "Health is Wealth" you can earn money any time.

Pros

- You will learn how to work efficiently and manage stress. - You will also learn about large scale backend systems. - Money is good. - Nice entry in the resume. If you feel like you're objectively smarter than everyone, constantly have to carry your lazy colleagues to complete projects, and barely receive any compensation for that, Amazon might work for you.

Cons

- "Fungibility". Means, you are expected to work on whatever needs work, regardless of your skills or preferences. You are also replaceable at a moment's notice. - "Efficiency". They will do whatever they can to squeeze you for every last drop of your energy. This is a direct job of your manager. You will be subtly coerced to work overtime and heavily shamed for any non work-related activity. - "Randomization". This means as soon as you half-done with one emergency project, you will be asked to drop it and start working on an even higher priority one. That's the normal flow of your work. - You know how everyone says "in Amazon you get to work with smart people"? That's used to shame you when you are not enthusiastic about doing something or fall behind in any way. Your manager will discuss that maybe you're just not as smart as you should be. - You will see people emotionally broken and crying after meetings. If you care about being nice to people, or you're someone who would say "work is not a #1 priority in my life", or if you have any serious weaknesses at all (like you're too shy or your ego is too large to reach a compromise), Amazon might not work for you.
