Pros

+ Density of talent: Really smart people, tough interviewing + Brand: Goes without saying though other companies are increasingly not hiring Amazonians at senior level because of concerns of disrupting their culture as Amazonians are getting increasingly arrogant

Cons

- Career growth: Impossible to get to Director, even more impossible to get to VP - Leadership lacks integrity: I was hired as Director and then promised to get to VP within 12 months, I took a pay cut to do so. All those promises have gone out of the window, and now I am getting BS served for the last 3 years, even though the performance is top tier. There was no need to make these false promises. - Compensation: This can be tricky, you can get a windfall or huge paycut depending on the stock price. Really unpredictable.

Pros

Learn new stuff. If you go to good team and work under a good manager you are lucky.

Cons

Pass feedback to HR, they would share with management Rogues and immature managers lead large teams. No goals set, reviews are wishy washy, no official written reviews shared Manager has to like you, else you are doomed. Senior management is too busy to hear you. Didn't have any context on you or product. Associates team in Bangalore is one such team, heavy attrition with jokers as senior managers.

Pros

From outsider's perspective Amazon seems to be an innovative company focusingon improving customer experience and offering more affordable products.

Cons

1) unrealistic business targets 2) inexperienced middle management 3) no support to remove roadblocks and, as a result, no work life balance 4) sometimes no respect in communication 5) relatively uncompetitive salary, the stock compensation is a joke given 3-4 year vesting period and 1 year employee retention
