Pros

Interesting projects, significant autonomy, not a lot of focus on the peripherals in getting the job done. Enough funds, most of the time, to get the job done. Never bored.

Cons

Very sexist work culture. You either need a sympathetic sponsor to guide you and shelter you as a female, or you have to work in a role that people expect women to work in. I got tired of being surrounded by the boy's club and brogrammer culture.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities to learn and grow quickly within the company. (If you're motivated and define your career path yourself)

Cons

Typical top-down approach is the common theme. Management tends to look at arbitrary numbers to gauge concerns rather than actually talking to the subject matter experts.
