Pros

Working with fellow employees is great.

Cons

People are promoted on who they know. And those that should be in management are over looked. And then there are some that finally make it into management and we see that they are unfairly treated because they are not in the "in crowd". Morale is at an all-time low but at times, we are afraid to provide our true feelings on the annual QLMS because then our senior manager will treat us worse.

Pros

Allstate is a great environment to work. There are alot of friendly and knowledgeable people that get the work done. Its a place that really mobilizes when times require mobilization. There is quite a bit of flexibility with the work life balance. They continue to invest in their people to make sure that everyone stays relevant. Since its such a large company there are many opportunities available in the different areas. The moral of the group is very good in all parts of the company. They work hard to make sure that everyone all around is challenged and brings thier best to work everyday.

Cons

Its a fairly large environment so we are not cutting edge on many things

Pros

Great brand name with a great reputation. It makes it easier for newbie's to say they are withn a big company. There are a lot of tools that people can use to further their knowledge about Sales and the Insurance business in general. Go Gateway and the Learning Resource Network provide an abundance of knowledge and tools for everyone to use. Even seasoned people can use these to brush up on their knowledge and incorporating technology with their ways of doing business. Excellent tech support, and great support within the offices. Someone is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Cons

They focus on Auto Insurance more than any of their other divisions. I work in Financial Services, which gets me no recognition. P&C agents are supposed to bring us referrals, and are actually compensated for doing so. But they don't actually do it. I am not sure why, when it keeps more of the customer's business within the same company. As of 2009, they are doing some cut backs to team members...and commissions. Even though we were the only team in the area to come anywhere near the goals set, even in the tough economic times. Not very encouraging to say the least!
