Pros

Balance of work and home is excellent. Work at home options, telecommuting, flex hours and good time off options. Fair set of benefits, although health coverage is quite expensive. The employees really care and try, but are so afraid of layoffs that tension, stress and self protection seem to rule the workplace. They offer lots of odd benefits like on-site child care facility, health club, discounts on phones, and sponsored events (like museums, concerts, and such)

Cons

The management of this organization is feudal. The Lords (management) rule, get massive raises, bonuses, parties and stock. The serfs (us) get fear, uncertain futures, no raises, and no bonuses. Management is massively focused on sending jobs offshore to save money and thus increase their bonus. The few left are overworked to the extreme and this leads to the failure of computing systems that claims, agents and field personnel complain about. To further improve the manager's bottom line, we have constant reorganizations. Just about every 2 to 3 years like clockwork everybody's job is reclassified, moved, and changed. By reclassifying jobs, they can readjust the pay scales and justify zero to 2 percent raises. Then the designer of this re-org gets a raise, a bonus and promotion and the next director moves in and reorganizes to his liking. When I started here Management and workers were a team. Now management rules and workers must obey. Sad to watch a once proud company sink like this.

Pros

Benefits provided were good. Since it's a large corporation they have money to provide cool benefits like Family Day and onsite convenient store.

Cons

All Senior Auditors were being ranked against each other and forcing some to be rated as "does not meet goals". I did not agree with this philosophy as it encourages people to step on others and try to make others look bad. Not fitting for a supposed "team" environment. Management is trying to squeeze as much work out of everyone. Used to be a fun and laid back place to work... now very stressful and long hours for no increase in pay or incentive other than to try to keep your job so you won't be laid off during the next round of layoffs.
