Pros

Able to control the workflow and make sure the required RMBC and UW are done.

Cons

Corporate is in compretition with you. There used to be rules against competing brokers in some industries. Now corporate has rerouted your phone and will offer quotes to calls before you can even speak with them. There are no benefits at local offices. The owners are greedy money hungry and could care less about anyone but themselves.

Pros

Great exposure to numerous fields within the business. My team was welcoming and encouraged me to ask questions. People will always be willing to set up networking calls and share advice about their experiences. Many intern positions are remote and they send you a monitor and keyboard that you get to keep after your time. Depending on your field, teams can often be older.

Cons

Not many. It can be a bit slow paced, but it’s a large org. So there are many checks and balances. Also many interns are remote so the opportunity to meet many in person is limited. Also return offers are not guaranteed even if you do well!
