Pros

Good benefits...compensation to start is average

Cons

Insuffient Training. I started working with this company approx 10mos ago and the training was very poor. They sit you in a room and talk your ear off about systems you haven't been able to work on and then after several months of not having you added into NextGen, Xactimate or Alacrity, they expect you to operate with thorough knowledge. When you ask questions, lower management tells you that they have already gone over the material during training which is not hands on. You are expected then to manage a full overload of claims with little to no errors. Getting an outside adjuster is nearly impossible when you need one to visit a property and the calls just keep coming. Follow ups must be made consistently and turn around to settle claims is 7 days or you won't get credit. You are expected to meet impossible expectations of settling & closing claims with little experience and support and get slapped on the wrist for settling after the 7 day period when you knew in the first place that 1/2 of those claims should have gone to an outside adjuster but there are not enough field adjusters and you don't get compensated for working extra hours unless a CAT has been declared.

Pros

benefits, interesting work (though too much of it.) required to investigate and close certain amount of claims and answer the non stop phone. could not be done in the time alloted and spent many, many hours of my own time to keep up.

Cons

excessively heavy workload. needed to put in a lot of overtime though not paid for overtime.

Pros

Nationally recognized name, generous vacation/sick pay, comprehensive benefits, diverse hiring strategies, pension, 401k, education cost share programs, wellness programs, clean work spaces, some remote work options.

Cons

Allstate (Corporate/Regional) is comprised of overworked, underappreciated tenured employees that do not have the drive, confidence or ability to move onto greener pastures. As a result, most of the remaining employees are unambitious and live in fear of losing their jobs. You will not receive leadership, guidance or have a mentor at Allstate; senior leadership also lives in fear and are consumed with their own need to stay alive and potentially climb the corporate ladder. Being an outside professional coming into the environment you quickly realize everything portrayed during the interview process was merely a facade. This place is a breeding ground for vindictiveness, unethical behavior and pure corruption.
