Be careful before you agree to abandon your financial business to be an EFS for Allstate

Pros

The financial services model ONLY works when the financial guy (EFS) is teamed with agencies that will actually produce the numbers of referrals you need to make production goals. Only the big agencies make it worth while--but there are not enough to go around. Be sure the group that will be assigned to you have a credible financial production history!

Cons

Problem is, the large producing agencies are already paired with with existing (fat cat) EFSs. The new guys will only get the poor performing, struggling agencies that nobody wants to work with. The guy trying to hire you gets a bonus for hiring more and more. Allstate motivates local managers to hire more than they can actually support with adequate referrals.

The IS (Infrastructure Services) organization is going through a transition. The problem however us that the Directors do not have a clue on what to do.

Cons

- Bad Leadership with IS organization - Directors are running around with their heads cut off - The IT mid-leaders doing anything to please the directors - No raises for most of the employees though they shamelessly claim that this is a pay for performance company
