Pros

They'll give you free training and then pay for your security guard license. They have a nice deal with DeVry so if they offer your degree, you can get it fairly cheap.

Cons

There seems to be no communication from site manager to site manager. Or from main office to hiring manager or site manager. I've gone into the office to pick up the uniforms that my hiring mgr told me to pick up. I was basically told I couldn't pick up a uniform and would have to speak with my mgr about getting an order put into the system (same day I was supposed to START my shift - was given the assignment the night before). Finally my manager came out and grabbed one but that's completely demonstrative of the amount of organization and communication going on. Not to mention my last post told me that my next would pay $12/hr - I was told $10 by my direct supervisor and was paid $9.50.. Considering I'm keeping an entire building secure overnight, one would think I'd get paid a bit better..

Pros

If you need up at a short staffed site ( seems to be just about every site) you will get your fair share of hours.

Cons

- You will get written up if you refuse to come in in on a scheduled day off. -You will be asked to push back vacation time you put in months in advance - You can tell the office you need officers for months and they won’t do a thing about it until the client threatens to end the contract - You will be harassed on days off or if you call off by upper management who will call you more over a dozen times in a 5 minute period. -You will be promised changes that never come -You will be run into the ground and will receive attitude if you push back even in the slightest -You will see a million different faces come and go because your site will be a revolving door of security officers getting hired and quitting. -You will be scheduled for a shift on your day off and only get 2 hours notice. - I could honestly go on but the truth is NOTHING will change. They don’t care about the officers. They only care about themselves.
