Fantastic Workplace!

Pros

Onsite workout facilities, onsite daycare, regular communication from executives about direction of the company, annual employee appreciation month-long celebrations, great employee development opportunities, tuition re-imbursement, MERSC discounts across the Twin Cities. Great culture of recognition. Want more? - it's here.

Cons

This is a sales environtment and results-driven culture. If you are not comfortable knowing there are metrics you will be measured by, then another employer may be a better fit.

Pros

- comprehensive induction program - autonomy in work - diversity of tasks - big company, big opportunities if you play the game

Cons

- work place politics frustrating & sometimes disheartening if you're sensitive - management do not listen to employee recommendations for system improvements - policies are changing all the time, hard to keep up and very stressful. If you want to keep on top of your work load and get good sales results for your team, be prepared to work long and hard. - high turnover of staff (for case managers that you are leading) - big focus on reducing costs (i.e. kicking people off the system, which may or may not be possible or recommended)

Micromanagement and finger pointing

Pros

Free parking, nice workout room and cafeteria, decent 401(k) match.

Cons

It's very difficult to tell why people are promoted here. It's often not the best people. It's sort of a crony culture where management gives itself as many perks/increased bonuses as possible, and employees try to "buy in" to the culture to get some of those perks. The company supposedly has had banner years the last two years, but many bonuses have gone down despite high individual employee rankings. There are many non-working "managers" who spend most of their day micromanaging their reports. They are often pretty weak, so employees call it "playing house" with their manager. Weak senior management. If you've done well at other companies because you do quality work and work hard, you may not want to go here, because that's not what is rewarded. Get anything they promise you in an interview in writing if you can.
