Pros

well your co-workers are awesome management seems nice but it is a numbers game

Cons

A typical day at work This is basically the fast food of desk jobs it was three weeks training with an overwhelming amount of information to try to learn and process. Even with the most amazing trainer and even studying night and day could never fully prepare you for how out of depth you are when they throw you on the floor your fourth week of so call nesting aka the Boiler Room if you ever seen the movie this is basically it but with debtors. What I learn is what they hire you for and train you for are two different things also what they say about firing people and not making your numbers is a lie all rumors you hear are true which is sad. Management surprisingly most of them are awesome in my heart if I could rate this job solely on the trainer and the co-workers and most of the boss's id give it a five star rating unfortunately I have to post a over all rating would be 1 because the people rock but the job itself is so stressful I came in not smoking cigarettes left smoking a pack a week so if you don't want to end up that stress don't work here. Workplace culture well your co-workers are awesome management seems nice but it is a numbers game you can read particular reviews on this about the same place I work and there spot on By Sink Or Swim: quote: The job is very stressful, must meet quota or you'll be let go like another number. By it's not flipping burgers quote:the base pay is minimum wage and you only get commission if you make your numbers which depend on what clients you are collecting for and what type of debt is on your desk. The Compliance list for what can and can't be said or given over the phone gets stricter by the day and depending on the offense you could be out after one or two major things. It gets old fast very quote:When you leave training your basically clueless as to what your supposed to tell consumers on the phone its pretty much a learn as you go situation and you compete with other employees to make commission. The hardest part of the job was saying good by to your coworkers after less then 3 months the life expectancy of this place is 3-6 months tops. The most enjoyable part was seeing that building in my rear view mirror.

Pros

Have your own desk. Not a physical job. Hourly pay is ok (but they pay less to people who have been there longer which is a joke)

Cons

I'm looking for another job. I work full time and was told I would be getting paid for winning a competition that was held on site. $400 The company decided not to pay out even though we all worked our butts off to get to what we needed to to earn the $400.

Pros

Commission can be worthwhile if you put in the time, willing to work around your schedule (to a point)

Cons

Low wage, commission is good only if you've been here for years and have put in enough time...management is terrible and only cares about getting their bonuses, couldn't care less about the measley wage they pay their employees...will hire anyone off the street and looks like a welfare office
