      Pros

      The benefits are great. The 401 k is unbeatable in any industry much less the pharmaceutical industry. The health insurance and dental insurance are great. They have a credit union on campus which is quite convenient. There is also a company store which sells Alcon products and Nestle products. The prices on baby formula and pet food are a great buy. There's a great cafeteria which is a little pricey for lunch but you can't beat the breakfast. The campus itself is beautiful. The salaries are better than average for the Fort Worth/Dallas metro area.

      Cons

      Just bought by Novartis who lay off people without even a care. Parking is horrible and you have to walk at least 1/4 mile to your car. In the Texas summer this is not pleasant at all.

      If you are starting out - this would be a great place to get corporate training, as long as you don't mind the hours.

      Pros

      I must say that CIBA has a great benefits package, especially if you or your dependents are contact lens wearers. They also have an above average 401k matching program.

      Cons

      Extremely long hours and no work/life balance opportunities. I say long hours because in Accounting/Finance - you can work 50+ hours over 3 days during month end close. Depending on the position, you may be expected to take your laptop with you during vacation and everyone in management has your cell number in case there is a question during month end close. Thankfully my latest call was at 11:30 pm at home, on a Saturday evening. My co-worker was requested to call me at that time to assist with a project. This was not during month end close.
