Pros

Good benefits, good bonus structure, work family balance, flexible hours whenever possible. Good outplacement services given to all affected with the moving of positions to Texas (Fort Worth, ALCON headquarters). Acceptable severance package for those who were affected with the move or were asked to leave.

Cons

Everything was OK till Alcon acquisition. Transparency in information and fairness promised but did not appear to be implemented when the time came. "Accept what we (Alcon) give you or you can leave"

Pros

They have great benefits and a decent starting pay A job you can be proud of and know that you are helping a lot of people in the long run Nice co workers for the most part

Cons

Raises are awful. The politics within the company are harsh and unreasonable. Unreasonably strict with days off (ie if you are out of pto time, and your sibling passes away, if you need to miss any work for it, you will be fired-no exceptions) The training program is sadly a joke. No room for growing withing the company In some departments there is way to much mandatory over time. Sometimes working 7 days a week. Most often 6 days a week for many months to years. No time for family or any life outside of work.

Pros

Great pay and benefits. Pension plan is good as well as the cost of benefits. Everyone is committed to the product and the patient.

Cons

No true area of responsibility therefore no clear expectations for a supervisor. Managers continue to operate in their own silo. Promotions are just give to hand picked individuals. Plant manager does not hold managers accountable for poor output and yields.
