Pros

I thought they were a great company that really took care of their people, until they sold us all down the river.

Cons

Getting forced into AirGas. Air Liquide bought AirGas and gave half of their people to AirGas, a bottom-feeding retail outfit that seems to have implemented a three year plan to run us all out and replace us with cheaper workers. 20+ years as a loyal Air Liquide employee and now I lose my retirement and can't afford the crazy expensive Airgas benefits, so I have to start all over again somewhere else.

Pros

Earlier it was Lurgi , afterwards was taken over by Air liquide in 2007. Lurgi was very professional company and somehow in spite of bad market situation had survived well...the reputation as a technological giant in chemical industry was good enough reputation to work for...

Cons

Initially just After it was taken over by Air liquide in 2007 everything was rosy... Things started a bit hayay as all global Lurgi stalwarts were shown the door... AL management seemed lost and could not decide how to manage.. changes were done in policy and management every now and then..looled. Like a headless chicken ..within few years downfall stated globally...Indian strength fell from 650+ in 2014 to 150 in 2017...

Pros

Air Liquide is a great company to have on your resume, and the ALLEX program offers great experience.

Cons

[Yes, I reported these in my exit interview.] I had a manger ask me to falsify safety documents to make it look as though he had done his job in the year following a safety related fatality in the same group. Peers had their review grades changed by program managers because they'd already been selected for international rotations, and program managers needed to make it look like they hadn't made a poor choice. I was paid 6,300 less than program peers with nearly identical coursework, and I was told things would be 'equalized' after the program. I was told my raise would be on the higher end of 9-14% after leaving the program, then given 9%, and told I should have negotiated my initial offer. Worst of all, in my first rotation a coworker harassed me with religious advice and comments. When I reported it to our manager, he told me he shared her beliefs. That manager was friends with the program director - imagine how that worked out for me? About two years later, the program randomly selected 3 participants for a later start date after receiving no volunteers. Their start date was pushed back by 6 months because of Air Liquide problems. Retention numbers are low, international rotation opportunities don't abound as advertised, and you'll be let go if you don't find a full-time position after the program. Stagnation is everywhere.
