If you get in the inner circle of the manager in your department you're set for life. Don't need to do anything and will still be well rewarded.
Cons
A lot of politics and every department has its own fiefdom where the manager keeps a close inner circle of friends, associates and even relatives that get very well looked after and practically do nothing. If there was a corruption index for companies like there is for countries this company would be ranked alongside the likes of Zimbabwe, India etc
