Pros

Bangkok location Great people Compensation and benifits

Cons

1. Inflated Ego Among New Managers: Some newly appointed managers begin to perceive themselves as VIPs, prioritizing personal stature over team welfare. 2. Impact at the Cost of Team Morale: In their urge to "make an impact," they often push changes that serve their image but damage team dynamics, productivity, and motivation. 3. Rise of Internal Politics: Political behavior and favoritism have become prevalent, with decisions influenced by personal biases rather than merit or fairness. 4. Deterioration of Team Culture: A previously healthy, collaborative environment has become toxic, driven by micro-management and unclear expectations introduced under new leadership. 5. Unreasonable Work Expectations: Despite consistently strong performance, I was asked to deliver more in less time, often pressured to work during weekends and off-hours — even when not on-call. 6. Disrespect Toward Work-Life Balance: Critical meetings were deprioritized in favor of task completion, undermining transparency, collaboration, and long-term planning. 7. Lack of Technical Diligence: Manager declined to review a well-structured 5000-line codebase, dismissing the effort involved in delivering new features, even after it being approved by code owners. 8. Disconnected Oversight: There’s a worrying trend of managerial detachment — asking engineers to account for their output manually, while ignoring simple tools and dashboards that clearly reflect contributions.

Pros

Acceptable perks and compensations for employees.

Cons

- Double standard in terms of quality of life for agents working in the operations sector and non-operations sector. Those who work in the frontline were left fighting with both outside customers/accommodation partners and inside employees. Managers were too scared to stand up and protect their own agents from the higher-up. Complaints proved to be ineffective as the managers would listen but not take any action. Basically, the agents were told to either suck it up or pack their stuff and leave. The leadership were out of touch and seemed to care about customers than their own employees. The only reason that managers were still interacting with their own agents was because agent's KPIs and performance affected their own KPIs in one way or another, otherwise the whole office would be dead silent. - The company tried too hard to promote career growth but actually did the opposite as the internal role openings required more experience and skills than an entry level employee would have. - The leadership would also rather not acknowledge any feedback and love to gaslight their own employees. - Micromanagement in regard to every single thing, ranging from time spent in a day to leave requests, to the point that agents seemed to cannot get sick at all. Also, what kind of company would make their own employees request for a day of leave 5-6 months in advance?

Tech debt riddled pain

Pros

- attracts great people - provides nice office in the centre for Bangkok - great opportunity for job beginners (big project to learn on) - good salary for Bangkok

Cons

- absolute abysmal tech debt - which was not addressed for years - 100% business driven with little understanding of iterative software process nor how to nourish a good dev culture - management is a bit arrogant and do not respect developers as much (high fluctuation) - to be fair this has been addressed over the years - strange promotions (better you know someone who can help you out *wink* - or bootstrap your promotion) - tech stack: over engineered, not documented, the developer who wrote this left years ago - lacking salary compared internationally - in the past 7 years the main App made questionable progress with a team that is definitely super scaled - loads of people, load of code, who do busy work with little visibility in the final product
