Pros

As with any company, the people are what make or break an organization. In Acquity's case, there are some wonderful and highly intelligent people that made the daily grind bearable. Depending on what project you are placed on and what senior member is overseeing, you can learn quite a bit about ecommerce technology in a short span of time which is very marketable right now anywhere. Unfortunately there is the likelihood you could be placed onto a poorly run project where you are thrust into the forefront of a client with little to no training so you have to learn as you go rapidly or else fail.

Cons

The company touts a "mentor" that is assigned to every new employee called a career manager which in theory is great, but in practice often hardly happens. There are many instances where new employees never hear from their career manager so they never get feedback on how they are performing or what the next step is promotion wise during annual reviews. This ties back into the lack of training and learning on the job which can be very stressful at the client site and no clear cut objectives identified to complete in order to advance in the organization professionally. It is all based on who you know in management and whether they like you or not.

Pros

- Ability to work with new technologies in eCommerce - Great people - Complex projects that will give experience to help move on to higher role elsewhere

Cons

- Substandard benefits, no 401K, high insurance, & "flex" PTO policy that is an outright lie. - Losing existing clients, not able to close on new resulting in large layoff in Jan. - Unorganized project teams - No training - Nepotism in management - No diversity whatsoever

Pros

This place will give you a pay check for a while. It will provide air conditioning and heating in the office. You will also get a lap top. And office pens. Bathrooms are provided in office.

Cons

The company has problems getting and keeping clients. That translates to very little job security unless you are one of the cronies. New people get the blame for anything regardless. The company does rotating layoffs and the staff cannot do anything about it besides try to undermine each other so they will not be laid off. There is no vacation time and if you resign, you discover that no vacation time that you didn't take accrued so they don't pay you for unused time, because they claim it never existed. The health benefits are very poor with huge deductables and if you happen to get sick even for a short time, you won 't be around very long. They are into staff augmentation for companies and the imaginative work is not there. They cut and paste from other prior clients.
