Pros

Nice benefit for employees to get discounts for top hotels: One of the most appealing perks of working at Accor is the employee discount program. Staff members get exclusive deals and discounts at some of the world’s top hotel chains under the Accor umbrella, making it a great advantage for travel enthusiasts. Good salary: Compensation at Accor is competitive compared to similar roles in the hospitality industry. Employees feel fairly rewarded for their efforts, which contributes to a positive work experience. Good office building: The office spaces are modern and well-maintained. The buildings are located in prime areas, offering an inspiring environment with all the necessary amenities to keep employees comfortable and productive. Good desk booking system: For those working in the corporate offices, Accor has an efficient desk booking system that allows employees to easily reserve workspace. This makes the hybrid or flexible work culture smooth and organized. Most people are nice to talk to: The company fosters a friendly work culture. Colleagues are generally approachable and cooperative, making it easy to build rapport and collaborate on projects. International company with mix cultural: As a global company, Accor offers employees the opportunity to work alongside people from diverse cultural backgrounds. This international exposure provides a rich learning environment and helps broaden perspectives. Interesting activities for employees: Accor encourages work-life balance by offering various recreational activities for employees. From social events to team-building exercises, these activities are a great way to de-stress and connect with coworkers.

Cons

Don’t expect the very new gen of company, they’re not based as a tech company: While Accor is a leader in the hospitality industry, it’s not a tech-driven organization. Employees who are looking for cutting-edge technology or innovative digital projects might find the environment a bit slow in adopting new trends. Technical skill is not everything: At Accor, technical skills aren't prioritized as much as you might expect. Employees with deep technical expertise may find their skills underutilized, as the company focuses more on other aspects of the business. They value communication skills more: Accor places significant importance on communication and interpersonal skills, sometimes more than technical prowess. This can be a challenge for those who prefer to work behind the scenes rather than in collaborative or client-facing roles. Get pressured in probation period sometimes: The probation period can feel intense at times, with high expectations to quickly adapt and meet performance standards. Some employees report feeling stressed during this initial phase. Some people are difficult to approach for work: While many colleagues are friendly, there are pockets within the company where communication can be more challenging. Some teams or individuals can be hard to approach, which may slow down workflow or collaboration. Don’t expect to get more knowledge in technical much here: For those looking to expand their technical expertise, Accor may not be the best place. The focus is more on the hospitality business, so opportunities for developing advanced technical skills are limited. Language barrier is also quite a big wall here as some people choose not to speak English: Even though Accor is an international company, language barriers can be an issue. Some employees prefer to communicate in their native language rather than English, which can create communication difficulties, especially for non-local employees.
