Pros

Working with intelligent & very diverse teams of people. Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company with more than 175,000 in 49 countries. Joining Accenture translates into continual opportunities to expand on what you can do. Our employees come together with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds to create talented teams of problem-solvers. We help clients become high-performance businesses.

Cons

Long projects, requiring weekly travel. Business was shifting main focus to outsourcing. People within the PSC organization are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients. Typically, people in BPO are based permanently at a client location. BPO helps clients develop and deliver business process innovations with cutting-edge outsourcing services. These services transform enterprises and deliver high performance at lower costs.

Pros

The best reason to work at Accenture is the extensive career opportunities. Accenture affords extensive career opportunities to work in its four workforces across multiple industries, functions, and geographies. These oppportunities allow employees to develop extensive skills and knowledge beyond the opportunities available in industry, making employees better suited for positions of increasing responsibility earlier in their careers.

Cons

One downside of working at Accenture is the extensive travel required for the Consulting Workforce; however, this is disadvantage existed in all consulting firms. Accenture has attempted to mitigate this disadvantage through changes in compensation, benefits, tools, and work/life balance options--making the travel requirements manageable.

Pros

Projects contain challenging work that is generally interesting and engaging, usually involving problem solving and creative thinking at its best. Work is is constently changing as projects kick off and complete at various clients across the world. Travel is constent, there are opportunites to travel and work abroad. The firm provides an opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the business, masters degrees, MBA's, and PhD's are plentiful. The people at the firm are mostly 'work hard, play hard' types and incredibly driven. Coaching and mentoring are important, management wants employees to succeed as this reflects well on the firm. Travel provides tons of points :).

Cons

Travel is constent, most people are on the road Monday through Thursday and work from home offices on Friday. For some, this is a great perk and for others it can be incredibly intense, cause homesickness and lonliness. Work/life balance can be tough, a lot of effort must be made to maintain contact and relationships at home. There is a lot of pressure to meet deadlines and perfect work is not expected it is a requirement. Mistakes are not tolerated if they are seen by the client. Work is required to be completed on time, perfectly and to client expecations. There is stress and intensity on a daily basis. Overtime is standard.
