Pros

The people - Everyone is highly motivated; Everyone wants to do a great job. It is competitive but team atmosphere also pervades. Sharing of best practices is encouraged and often done. Clients are top-notch and Projects are high-profile - We work with the best companies across all industries. We also work on key projects/initiatives for these companies. I have enjoyed the variety of roles/projects I have been exposed to and have learned tremendously (in terms of both what to do and what NOT to do).

Cons

Projects can have really long hours Assignments can be based on what is available or where you are needed (vs. career interests) Compensation is not the best (average)

Pros

Working in Accenture gives the possibility to grow your career faster than in most other companies. In fact I think this is true for all consulting companies. Accenture gives you possibility to work on projects for different clients and in different countries, which is definitely a great experience (unfortunately see downsides for more information on this one).

Cons

The main disadvantage is lack of work/life balance. If you manage your free time really good, you will be able to find time for your friends and hobbies, but definitely not as much as in non-consulting companies. The problem is especially noticeable during some projects and in the last phase of almost every project. Of course, there will be times when you'll be working 40 hours per week and be able to devte more time for leisure. Another downside is definitely how hard it is to change projects. From what I've seen, noone cares who wants to be on what project and usually having two people with similar abilities, one of them interested in a specific project and the other on not, the second individual gets assigned. Last but not least, from my experience there is almost no management to consultants and analysts communication regarding planned projects.
