Pros

Accenture is one of the best firms to work for. It is really sad to see some people trash their employers on this site but I certainly believe that no employer or company is "perfect", but you have to find and be happy with what's good in your job/employer. Accenture does offer a lot to it's employees when it comes to rewards, recognition, career advancement, training opportunities, and so forth. If you get on the right project in a right role in your chosen field (SAP, Oracle, Seibel or Management/Technology Consulting), you can do wonders for your career. Accenture does provide ample opportunity for individuals to choose and take true "ownership" of their careers through on-going training, developmental feedback, a personal career counselor. I do agree that each individuals experience at Accenture will be different, but in due time, it's is very unlikely to find a role where one cannot feel comfortable. While the rewards of money and recognition are important and Accenture does it's best to meet the market standards, I believe the top reason that I am willing to stay at Accenture is knowing that there are people who work here who care about my career and not just their own.

Cons

I think the downside is in finding the right role for "you". There are times where individuals are placed on projects just to increase the headcount. Unfortunately, I have personally experienced this couple of times. The role may not be meaningful nor the management really cares how well you perform as long as you are "chargeable". Of course, consulting does allow you to transfer to different projects after a your roll off date. It take a lot of research and conversations to find the right role but once you do, if you work hard, you can be successful.

Pros

Good for CV. Some of the people were great to work with. The company makes you think that you are important by laying on lots of good events. Make use of the training opportunities.

Cons

Long hours and weekend working is the norm. Not family friendly. Don't think you will ever been home for bedtime if you have young children. Some projects are terrible and simply horrible places to be. Others are great. Be careful to choose (if you can) good projects for you.
