Pros

Well respected name looks good on a CV.

Cons

Poor pay, your worked hard, and constantly under threat of redundancy. All training is online and you have little chance of getting funding to do Prince2 or ITIl courses. The recognition scheme is a joke and is based on a point system that you can use to but things from a catalogue. Services is constantly squeezed all the time and the pay reflects that.

Pros

People. I have been able to meet some of the most fun and interesting people. The network opportunity here endless and you will meet and work with people from all over the world with a wide range of personalities and skills. They say you don't really get to experience consulting until you get an out of town project. That's when all the perks come in with the hotels, flights, per diems.

Cons

Projects in the Canadian market are somewhat limited. There's Oil&Gas in Calgary and some random projects in Toronto and very limited elsewhere. Some projects are black holes and very difficult to get out of despite the lack of any career growth on the project.
