Pros

A Paycheck, Benefits and did receive a year end bonus. I work with good people in my team.

Cons

Lack of opportunity for growth. The company does not seem to care if you grow or even work here. They mention in the meetings about new projects, teams and Jobs being created. However they seem to promote from Nepotism. Also the job descriptions say one thing but you do not end up doing hardly any of it. If you just want a job and a paycheck then this is the place for you. If you want and opportunity to be challenged, grow in your knowledge as well as move up in your career then ASM is not the place for you .

Improvements Needed

Pros

Interesting, busy, and challenging work. For the most part, an intelligent, hard working, competent, and congenial group of people. A strong process orientation especially on the technical side. Company is trying to improve processes to manage the growth which has been significant. Not overly level conscious culture. Most employees take ownership over their jobs/work product.

Cons

Excessive micro-management. Distrust of employees. Culture of nepotism. Some positions are filled not by the most qualified individual but by virtue of who they know in the company with preference given to family members. This has a detrimental affect on the business and employee morale. Family members are given preferential treatment and opportunities not offered to the "rank and file, such as, working remotely (telework or virtual). Employees not empowered to make decisions (little authority) even at the senior leadership level. Risk taking not encouraged or supported. Managers don't "walk the talk." "Do as I say, not as I do," mentality. Managers have a different set of rules for themselves and hold their employees to a higher standard. Work life/family life balance can be a challenge at times. Opportunities for bonuses are not equitably applied. Benefits and pay fair not great.

Pros

Great team environment. Cares about employees and offers flexibility. Opportunities to learn additional skills and to impact everyday processes. Employees are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for process and product improvement.

Cons

The organization is pretty flat which is a good thing as far as empowerment is concerned, but it lacks clear career paths for advancement.
