Pros

They're good at brainwashing their employees and redirecting their attention to things that is not important to their employees.

Cons

- This year is the second time that they have not paid bonuses due to "not meeting the target" even if the quarterly catch ups and influx of new accounts says otherwise. - The annual increase is a joke and it would seem like you owe the company for just having it. - Working hard will not always equate to a good standing. What matters is if your line manager "likes" you because that will give you opportunities instead of actually being good. - Internal promotions would only give you max of 10% of your basic pay. Those that have a low base pay are at a disadvantage. - The salary ranges are also not being followed for all levels even if it's already reflected in the system. The management knows this but chooses to ignore. - They have good internal ratings because they'd do the surveys first before announcing the bad news.

Thank you for sharing your experience so candidly. We’re sorry to hear that your time at AMS left you feeling this way, particularly around pay, progression and trust in leadership. That’s not the experience we aim to create. We know that decisions around bonuses, salary increases and promotions have a real impact on people. When expectations and outcomes don’t align, it can feel discouraging. If you’re open to it, we’d welcome a conversation at colleague.feedback@weareams.com. We wish you well in your next chapter.

Pros

Flexible working hours, supporting managers

Cons

performance bonus is not consistent (depends on overall company revenue and performance) even if you individually or your team hit the target.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It’s encouraging to hear that flexible working and supportive managers are making a positive difference in your day-to-day work. We also recognize your frustration around performance bonuses, particularly when individual or team targets are met. We understand how important fairness and clarity are in reward decisions, and are committed to maintaining open and transparent communication about how bonuses are determined and to continuing to strengthen understanding in this area.

Not what it used to be

Pros

Remote working and very, very few members of the C Suite.

Cons

Micromanagement is the master theme here. No annual increases, bonuses are a joke when they do happen (which is about the same chance of winning the lottery). Focus is solely on valuation in the PE space. Clients are viewed as valuation multipliers only. Employees are treated a recyclable garbage and quickly tossed aside to make the company numbers look better. Employees used to be viewed as value drivers, but not anymore-merely viewed as costs. There is zero accountability at AMS. Someone is always blaming someone else for failures or lost bids. It's always the market and downturns...never on how things are delivered. Looking in the mirror is hard to comprehend at AMS. Lots of incompetent "senior leaders". I use the term leader on purpose. AMS could be a textbook example in a McKinsey playbook on how not to operate.

Thank you for sharing such candid feedback. It’s clear you’re feeling disappointed and frustrated, particularly around leadership, accountability, recognition and how people experience decision-making today. We know experiences can shift over time, especially as markets and client demands evolve. That doesn’t lessen the importance of how those changes are felt by our colleagues. Creating an environment grounded in trust, fair reward and responsible leadership remains critical to us. If you’re open to it, we would value a more direct conversation at stephanie.gillingham@weareams.com. Any discussion would be treated in complete confidence.
