Pros

Exposure to big customers. Good work-life balance (thanks to the clients).

Cons

They don't care about you. They make promises but not deliver in them. Very long notice period. No progression. Your role is just customer's support. Salaries below the market. You don't have a real contact with Alten. They just want to make money with you. Almost no benefits, just statutory rights.

Pros

Colleagues are usually young and open to make friendship outside work hours.

Cons

Low salaries and poor Contract conditions. High risk of getting bored when working at client's site. Ghost promises of career development, uncertainty that you realise after a few months in the company. Abusive contract clauses like retaining engineers by making them pay useless trainings if they quit.

Thanks for your review. We are striving to create a collaborative and inspiring environment for all our employees so I am sorry to hear about some of your experiences. As a growing company, receiving feedback is a priority in order to ensure a long lasting development and we will continue to find ways to improve. However, I wanted to address a couple of your specific concerns here. First, as ALTEN LTD matures, we are continuously ensuring a relevant alignment between our salary policy and the UK market. This alignment is performed through the continuous collaboration of our Recruitment and HR teams. Second, career development is at the core of the ALTEN model and is managed thoroughly by dedicated Career Managers ensuring the continuity of the development of each consultant. This Career Management scheme is materialized by an Integration Meeting after the start of each engineer, and then by an individual quarterly follow-up in order to ensure both your career and your project are going in the right direction. Each year is wrapped-up by a formal Annual Appraisal during which numerous topics are tackled such Skills Development, Salary, Career Progression, Training... For specific trainings requiring a significant investment from ALTEN, a mutual commitment is effectively needed as it is the case in most companies. ALTEN is covering though, the full cost of the training. Finally, ALTEN LTD is giving the opportunity to its employees to develop their talent and abilities throughout their career in one or several of our four career paths covering: Expertise, Management, Business & Support functions. The wide range of career progression possibilities enable employees to benefit from a bespoke career development. Thank you for your ongoing contribution and feedback. Please be sure we are committed to continuously improve the robustness of our structure.
