Pros

Benefits are adequate for a company their size

Cons

Refused all nonessential employees to work from home during pandemic shut down Houston Stafford office floods when it rains and employees are not allowed to leave early to prevent getting stuck at the office late into the evening or overnight. Senior leaders have favorite employees who are managed on separate set of policies and rules that are lenient or lax Nepotism throughout company with family and family friends, favorites, etc Senior leaders lead by fear and humiliation

Thank you for providing feedback and we regret that you feel discontent with the way that ALS has handled the pandemic. We strive to keep all our employees safe and have implemented many safety protocols that have allowed us to do just that. We are also proud that we were able to remain open and continue to provide employment for many of our staff during this time. As with any weather situation, we always monitor the area and surrounding areas, as well as listen to the mayors orders to advise employees. Please send through additional details in regard to the alleged nepotism, favoritism and humiliating tactics as we would like to investigate these further. While we do have employees that refer family and friends for positions with our company we have policies regarding this, which we adhere to. If you don't believe this is the case, we would like to review and investigate. You can reach us on ALSUSA.HRSupport@ALSGlobal.com.

Poor Management Skills!

Pros

There were some nice co-workers to socialize with Pay was decent

Cons

Management was awful: I was thrown into work without any training or direction, I had to figure everything out on my own. Even when I asked my reporting manager for things, he had no clue and would tell me to ask someone else. High turnover rate without any knowledge transfer. The company culture revolves around the lab, which doesn't work for other departments, but it's the law of the land. Management doesn't care to hear your feedback. If the CEO says it, you do it, no questions asked! Regardless, if it's right, wrong, or indifferent. No remote work options No casual Friday

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed socializing with those that you had the opportunity to work with. We have actively worked on our compensation structure to ensure that employees are paid fairly for the work that they do. We apologize that you did not receive what you feel was adequate training. We pride ourselves on a very robust employee training program as well as employee learning and development. One of the core values of ALS is “People Development” and we take this very seriously. We would be happy to review the training practices of the department you worked in if you are willing to send us additional information on this. Our company is a production laboratory thus a large portion of our focus is on the laboratories. Laboratory employees also make up the largest portion of our workforce. Again, you would like, please provide additional details regarding your claims to ALSUSA.HRSupport@ALSGlobal.com.

Pros

Great team members and colleagues, good technical support, paid for RSC / RSB membership (although stopped at the moment due to COVID and don't know if it will restart).

Cons

Low pay - can earn much more working in a supermarket. Repetitive work. Old fashioned policies and procedures. Too many layers of management, so there is a lot of micromanaging and very little delegated responsibility. There also seems to be a lot of differences between sites which builds resentment. When recruitment is unfrozen - don't apply here.
