My tenure at ALS was disorganized from the outset. They were unprepared to interview me when I showed up to the correct building at the correct time. Onboarding involves being stuck in isolation in an uninsulated room. Any attempts to advance are met with empty promises and cold shoulders. The company was in a vicious budgetary cycle- in order to make it seem like we were meeting our financial goals, we regularly pulled work from the next month and were forced to do overtime to complete it. Consequently, it becomes more difficult to meet financial goals for the the next month, meaning additional work has to be pulled from the following month... so on and so forth. For the rank-and-file, this meant that available work ebbed and flowed, with slow periods at the beginning of the month and ungodly amounts of crunch at the end. Overall a very unpleasant place to work.
