Pros

Work hard and you can advance. Some departments promote from within. Great benefits (health and dental) compared to similar companies.

Cons

Some employees do not view tasks with urgency. Mediocracy is accepted and is more of the norm. Nights and weekends can be the norm.

Pros

Although a bit noisy, the office in Neuhausen is quite nice. You can walk by the Rhine at lunch time. You can pretend to be working. It is a lot easier than doing real work. You don't have to work long hours, but it is important to show that you are there long hours. Your presence and flatteries are a lot more important than your efficiency. Agco is definitely not a US company on that respect.

Cons

The company is very disorganised and the multiple data systems are not reliable. Top management in the Swiss headquarter is conspicuous by it mediocrity. Despite having a big and costly strategy department filled with internal consultants, Agco has no strategy. Most top managers have no clue what goes on and they don't want to know. Don't expect any support from these top guys. They are more interested in their paycheck and bonus than the rest. The most incompetent employees usually get promoted.

Pros

Few levels of management allows for more exposure to senior leadership. Significant room for improvement means that there is always lots to work.

Cons

Senior leadership is not forward thinking and not interested in supporting or praising those who are trying to make the company better. Promotion is more likely for those who do nothing than those who go above and beyond (Don't rock the boat mentality).
