There is no sense of community within the division. Besides a summer company picnic, a holiday "party" (just mediocre catered food in the break room), and a weight loss challenge, there isn't really anything that encourages employees to interact with each other. Division is seen as a step-child to corporate and is treated as such. Business is completely dependent on the weather and sales forecasts are not adjusted for weather conditions; growth is measured monthly instead of looking at the long term (year long) growth. This leads to budget cuts during slow months to help meet numbers, but then excessive spending during good months. Employment seems to be a revolving door -- both with resignations and layoffs due to financials during bad months. VP position seems to be a temporary until promoted to a corporate position with 3 VP's in 4 years. The organization is also extremely out of touch with it's end users. A lot of money is spent on product development without actually talking to the end user to see how they feel and what they want.

Deep lack of knowledge of current technology. Senior leadership is unengaged and out of touch but stays quietly behind the scenes to avoid exposure to their lack of real experience. If you just want a place to collect a check and pass the buck onto those who care, this could be your next retirement spot.
