There is something missing at this company.

Pros

Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Top Execs do not work as a team, but rather rule their own kingdoms. As a result, it is very difficult to get anything accomplished on even a regional level let alone a global level.

Pros

Nice people, individually Great corporate facility (Duluth, GA) Decent location for ATL (depending where one lives) Equipped with all the latest technology tools, gadgets

Cons

Silo-ed/Cocooned: Communication and collaboration are words not found in the AGCO glossary. it almost seems like every department for themselves. Business side Bloat: Not only are business departments massively staffed, but there seems to be excessive travel and other activities which tremendously inhibit the companies bottom line. Moreover, the overall footprint of the Duluth office seems to be excessive given the fact that NA sales contribute to about a third of the company's sales revenue. Accountability: The buck seems to stop no where at AGCO. Lots of fingers pointing in other directions. Business Vs IT: Warring factions within AGCO. Business wants to do whatever they please no matter the cost or consequences and IT wants to lock down and control every system which business owns. IT is a militia without guns with their depleted, lack of resources. It also doesn't help their cause that they are headed up by a power hungry politician and an IT bureaucrat. Business often views IT as the ugly child of the company...relationship building is challenging to say the least. Intense Hand Holding: AGCO probably has one of the more technically challenge business units of the Fortune 1000. Downturn management: AGCO lays off 200+ people the week before Thanksgiving (Nov 2014) knowing this would be imminent as far back as Spring.
