Uncooperative coworkers/depts, hostile environment, limited growth opportunities
Pros
Can learn a lot from various research departments and senior leaders who are willing to take the time to explain high level decisions. Otherwise, none.
Cons
The Walt Disney Company sets up their business units to fight against each other for resources and funding, and it's "every man for himself" on a personal level as well. Limited to zero opportunities to move up from within, even with repeated 5 star performance reviews. No clear, consistent goals or mission statement from senior management, and communication is poor at best. Most departments do not like each other and will not cooperate under any circumstances because there is typically no advantage to doing so. Many other key decisions are based on politics instead of logic or merit. Also the employee structure is extremely top heavy, with many company veterans of 15+ years who are not adapting to an industry changing at lightening speed. Making progress takes at minimum several months, if not years, or doesn't happen at all. People within departments often don't work well together either - more interest in being right than doing the right thing. Extremely disappointing experience, and wouldn't recommend any area of ABC or any other TWDC division to anyone.
