You can get a clearer view of Europe thanks to GrandVision. One of the largest eyewear groups on the continent, the company operates more than 1,200 retail optical outlets in about 20 countries, including France, Italy, Spain, and the UK. Its optical chains include GrandOptical, Générale d'Optique, Solaris, Batemans Opticians, Vision Express, and +Vision. Investment group HAL owns GrandVision, which was founded in 1981 by co-chairmen Daniel Abittan and Michael Likierman. HAL also controls leading eyewear retailer Pearle Europe.
