Point A and Point B are a little closer together thanks to GEFCO. The company, a subsidiary of French automaker Peugeot, provides logistics and supply chain management for OEMs, as well as overland transport, sea and air transport, vehicle distribution, containers management, and customs services. Its vehicle distribution division delivers cars from factory to showroom or distribution warehouse to rental agency. Building up its automotive logistics arm, the company in mid-2011 purchased a 70% stake in Gruppo Mercurio, an Italian car transportation and distribution business. GEFCO customers include Fiat, Harley-Davidson, Volkswagen, Budget, and Hertz. It has 400 locations in Europe, South America, and Asia.
