Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche builds its business by building machinery for metal makers. Most of its equipment is used by steelmakers and iron foundries. Products include blast furnaces, electric steel meltshops, casting equipment, and hydraulic presses. The company also manufactures hot- and cold-rolling mills, processing lines, and extrusion plants. Danieli builds pollution-treatment plants and offers construction and engineering services, as well. It also procures products ranging from computers to steel pipes for companies. Customers include IPSCO and Nucor Corporation, and joint ventures to make steel products are inked with Vietnam Steel Corp. SIND International SA controls about 65% of the company.
