Carnival in Rio wouldn't be the same celebration without Companhia de Bebidas das Américas - AmBev. Catering to Brazil's beer market, the company brews and bottles an array of brand name beers; major labels are Antarctica, Brahma, and Skol. AmBev also produces non-alcoholic beverages by Pepsi-Cola and Unilever (Lipton iced tea), as well as mineral water and sports drinks by various companies. Beyond Brazil, AmBev generates nearly a third of its sales from subsidiaries in other Latin American countries (including Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela) and Canada through Labatt. Anheuser-Busch InBev (indirectly) and Fundação Zerrenner (former Antarctica owners) collectively control about 90% of AmBev.
