Venture Analyst Interview Questions

608 venture analyst interview questions shared by candidates

Some questions were a little odd and lengthy, the kind where you are asked 3 long questions in one go so by the time they finish asking, you've totally forgotten what was asked. I was asked questions around insight, strategy, business planning. I then never even heard back either way after the interview which I think is pretty poor. Interviews can be nerve wracking and require a lot of preparation, If felt like I really prepared for this interview so not to even get any answer from them is pretty disappointing.

Favorite company, why. Least favorite company, why. The role of products in your life, i.e. what you "hire" them for. (Watch the Harvard Business video) Guesstimate questions designed to see if you think outside the box. Remember to use different POVs i.e. if the question is designed to ask about the revenue stream of a company, think about the costs and conduct a "sanity check" on your answers Be well informed of the startup ecosystem/ business world, lots of questions were asked about i.e. WeWork, Airbnb, Herbalife. Conversational questions, presumably designed to test your knowledge Also, be ready to pitch a venture or two
