Unfortunately I used a lidocaine patch for leg pain caused by falling on ice.The patch was given to me by my aunt, since I lacked health ins.The pain wasn't bad enough for the er. I didnt think that it was going to be detrimental to my test but it was, giving me a false positive reading. The lab doctor called and said my urine had cocaine. When trying to explain he was very rude and short. I pride myself on being somewhat intelligent I didn't and wouldn't have been dumb to use illicit drugs knowing that I am applying for healthcare jobs and most if not all jobs do urinalysis these days. I'm fully aware that jobs have to protect there interest and don't need any potential liabilities. I really wanted and liked what this job had to offer. I guess that's why it was such a devastating blow. Also I need to mention all other test I was given were passed with no problems. This has truly been a costly lesson learned. 3months unemployed because of major health issues concerning my newborn grandson, thank goodness there is improvement with him. (My past job didn't offer loa)So it's been hard for me,not being a college grad, mid 40's and african-american woman. And I'm not having a pity party saying woe is me,but its hard when the light at the end of your tunnel has burned out without a clue.
