Technical Program Manager Interview Questions

2,468 technical program manager interview questions shared by candidates

The questions are easy technical questions. But interaction is very difficult because recruiter style is very difficult and non-professional. I suspect she lacks technical expertise or knowledge, and hides it by not providing any meaningful dialog or engagement. Questions: 1. What's Ohms law. Very simple. 2. Explain the different types of memory. I explained application, usage, and pros/cons of ROM, SRAM, Flash (both NAND and NOR), and DRAM. Then she says that is not what is asking for. Ask her to elaborate. It turns out she is talking about reliability level of DRAM used in servers, which have different grades. So that is her background because she normally recruits for HW server group. 3. The particularly position I'm applying for is not in the server group. She asked some questions about system level. She said it was top secret and she cannot disclose this type of system, but want know to know if I worked on this type of system. I cannot believe the incompetence of this recruiter. Yeah, so she wants me to be a mind reader. In any case, based on her questions, I figured out the type of system she is trying to hire for. And I do have experience with this system. 4. What is my current salary? I basically said that salary is not everything. I am looking at the entire package: company, compensation, opportunity growth, etc. And my salary is inline with typical Sr PM in SV with x years of experience. She won't drop this, so she kept on asking for a $ figure. She kept on and on for 5 minutes why she must have this. Finally, I just got tired and told her I will only seriously consider salaries above x $.
