I don't think they expected me to pull out equations (like I said, I just had an exam), but the ability of just looking at a problem and coming up with reasonable expectations of "what is going to happen" and asking the right questions to get more info.

First Level Thinking, Physics mechanics ( resultant forces, a moment of inertia) Pump power and output, gear ratio, gear mechanisms. etc The previous problem you have solved and explain. Hypothetical problem and you need to solve the problem and explain the thought process

First Level Thinking, Physics mechanics ( resultant forces, a moment of inertia) Pump power and output, gear ratio, gear mechanisms. etc The previous problem you have solved and explain. Hypothetical problem and you need to solve the problem and explain the thought process

1. You have two-cylinder made from the same material. They are made to have the same diameter and length. The only difference is that one is solid and the other one is hollow. Which one has higher stiffness when bending? 2. Again you have two-cylinder but now these two-cylinder rods have the same mass and length, which one has higher stiffness? 3. Taking the two-cylinders with the same mass, which one has higher resonance frequency when you impact the end of the rod?
