Case Study: Scenario: You have been selected to join Motoinsight in this role. Your mandate is to take on all Project Management responsibilities for ongoing implementation projects for new clients and large projects for existing clients (upgrades, new features, etc.). Project Management functions are currently being handled by the Product Management and Client Services teams. The available Project Management artifacts and documentation vary for each project based on size, complexity, the client’s expectations, and the maturity of the client’s own Project Management processes. There is a desire internally to formalize shared Project Management processes and artifacts so we can; • Improve consistency in our approach to project delivery, while remaining flexible • More effectively plan resourcing requirements and forecasting across all internal teams & functions • Reduce scope-creep and reactive decision making as a result of “surprises” that arise in the late-stages of a project Questions: 1) What is your 30-day plan for taking over the Project Management responsibilities on all existing projects that are currently in various stages of completion? 2) Present your recommended high-level Project Management process that you would implement, including a process diagram and a list of the critical sub-processes (i.e. change management) and artifacts (i.e. project status report) dictated by your plan. Provide a sample of 1 artifact template of your choice.
