What’s been your proudest piece of work?
Received initial video request to interview during holiday week (Thanksgiving) with it due on Black Friday. The philosophy of work life balance doesn’t seem to be a priority! Followed up with a second round in person interview to inquire about this approach and to learn more about the team dynamic and work culture. Lenora questioned me about my ability to work full time and be a mother. Then, she blatantly questioned the value I have and would bring to her team. My impulse was to prove my value and worth, however, I quickly realized that no one should ever question your balance and certainly not your value. I recognized that as a manger, the culture she’d provide certainly wouldn’t be worth my time out consideration. I was even offered an “optional” additional performance task to showcase to her my capability. This interview held red flags galore!
