Nothing extremely difficult. The first screening process is somewhat unpleasant for those people who are not used to it.
How do you conduct research
Q: How to improve a product (Google Maps) in therms of linguistic choices Q: Discuss locative prepositions (in italian) and their use depending on the situation Q: Discuss particular linguistic choices spoken language related (e.g. "Why do we say 'Il re di Francia' but 'Il presidente della Francia'")
I was asked about grammatical and syntactical roles (from a computational linguistics perspective), NLP libraries and my experience with them. I had to describe the process for an imagined task, like a grammar checker, or a specific NLP task. The questions were very CL-focused, including the structural linguistics ones. I got the feeling the interviewers expected to get more than a superficial solution, and so they insisted until I provided enough details.
