A catalogue app, for example the homescreen of Netflix with some added effects, search functionality, of course TDD, etc
I've been given a test that was basically about showing a list of drivers on a map, updating positions, calculating closest driver based on the user position, etc. Very basic thing. Had 2 or 3 days to do it. I've seen other people here saying that they basically wanted you to work for free and never hire you, which is ridiculous. This is a typical hiring exercise, designed to measure your various skills. They threw my work away as soon as I passed that step.
What issue did you face and how did you resolve it
The first interview had an introduction with HR and a very senior technical manager, a short questions and answers test followed by an in-depth technical discussion with the senior technical manager and the CEO. The second interview comprised a pairing exercise on which I could have done better.

The questions were more philosophical. I am with strong credentials and was actually taking a step down in positions (I was formerly a Sr Manager over three teams that consisted of 60+ employees, to being a Lead/individual contributor. This was fine as that is what I wanted during that part in my career. As someone who has interviewed 500+ potential candidates in my career, I knew what they were thinking so I actually led the interview and told them what I assumed they wanted to know.
