What does a cow weigh? I understand that this is a fairly typical type of question to test abstract thinking ability for engineers. I had fun with it. Most interviews focused on experience and approach to typical situations. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Interviewers were very interested in my prior experienced with advanced television technologies (understandable). Much of TiVo's platform is proprietary, so you just have to have enough background to pick things up once you get in the door.
Identify the wrong password locations in unix file system, list of 5 choices will be read to you.
Imagine the design team ran into an issue and wants to run 4 prototypes in parallel. Explain how you would present this to the executives.
