I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA)
Interview
I was sending a link to a platform similar to Leetcode. The interview were joined on a video call and she basically described the problem we were trying to solve, and I had to type it into this IDe. She was kind, clear, and helpful.

Interview
I had a screener phone call with a recruiter where they told me I would be doing a coding interview with "leetcode type questions", and the interview prep I was provided said the same thing. Half of my coding interview was just the interviewer asking me technical questions which I was not prepared for because I was focused on studying leetcode, and the last half he free balled the coding aspect and it seemed like he was just making up questions on the spot (what he asked wasn't even something you would ever see on leetcode/codesignal). Really disorganized and clearly there was a disconnect between the recruiter and interviewer.

Interview
The hiring manager met with me and then I had a technical interview with other developers/technical people. The hiring manager asked me a lot of questions about myself and about how I worked on a team. The manager was mostly just getting to know me and how I presented myself and my work. Following this initial interview, I was selected for a technical interview. This was just a contract position, so it was not as intense as a FTE position.
