Interview
1) Applied online 2) 2-3 days later I received an email to complete basic exam / typing test 3) Next day, received invite to complete HireVue process. No face to face contact with a person. The screen will read a question and record your response. About 3-4 STAR questions and basic questions about the expectations for the role 4) Within a day or so, I was contacted by a recruiter for a phone interview. Phone interview was relaxed / provided detailed information about role and getting to know you and your experiences. 5) Next step - phone interview with 2 Managers (most formal part of the process) Several STAR questions Process is long… about 2-3 weeks overall for me. You start background process after passing step 3. I get extremely nervous when I interview but everyone was nice and made me feel at ease! Pretty standard process for this role. If you have no previous experience in customer service or STAR questions, it may be considered slightly challenging. Preparation and understanding the role you’re applying for is key!

Be prepared to understand and articulate the role you applied for / Why eBay / Why are you qualified? Describe a time you de-escalated a tough situation. Describe a conflict/ negative feedback between coworker / manager. How do you deal with upset customers? Describe a time you followed a process / guidelines? They ask the questions in creative ways. Be prepared with several STAR examples of dealing with upset/ unsatisfied people and problem solve
