I applied online. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in Jul 2013
Interview
Technical Phone Interview followed by 6 different interviews with 4 technical problems, 1 technical Q&A and hiring manager interview. Start from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm with 1 hour lunch break. Did not provide lunch and had the time to myself.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at eBay (Dublín, Dublín) in May 2017
Interview
After initially completing the application, I was asked to complete and automated interview process using Hirevue. I then was told I would find out within 2-3 days whether I had been moved forward.
2 months later, I received an email asking why I had not progressed with the phone interview that followed, being told a number of applicants had not continued the process due to missing emails, which actually lead me to believe they had lost my video file, given they had to ask confirmation of which stage I was at.
My initial interview time was not convenient or possible for me to attend, so I asked if it was possible to reschedule. My next appointment was sent to me in an email stating my appointment was at 9pm on the following Wednesday. While I thought this was oddly late, I figured it might have been the last slot available, or maybe a slot tagged on to accommodate me, confirmed my availability, and was emailed a confirmation.
Which brings us to today, where I woke at 9:30 to a voicemail from their recruiter, scolding me in a rather aggressive tone of voice and abrupt manner, for not being there at 9 and that since it was now 9:12 she would just inform HR that I was a no show. When I called back I was sent to voicemail. I explained the issue, and asked should I not bother arriving at 9pm, and that I assumed there would not be anyone there to meet me because of this mix up.
While I received no callback and no other verbal communication, a few minutes after my phone call I received a full rejection email, stating I had not been successful in my application.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at eBay (Portland, OR) in May 2017
Interview
Was contacted by a Talent Acquisition Specialist who asked me a few general questions about my current job. She then sent me an 'exercise' to complete that involved using software that I had never used before. She asked that I return it as quickly as possible. I went out and got said software and completed the exercise (perhaps not to my best satisfaction). Three days later I got an email saying that they had decided to look at other candidates. No reasons were given...
