I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (Milán) in Nov 2016
Interview
I sent them my CV through my university's platform. I got the invitation to the group interview about 3 weeks later. The process was very clear, and the interview environment was very relaxing. We were asked to first deliver a brief presentation about ourselves (strengths, weaknesses...) and then solve 2 case studies. There were the hiring manager and another senior employee that we would be work closely with. I received the feedback 1 week after the interview. The interviewers were nice and supportive. It was a very good experience.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at eBay (Dublín, Dublín) in Dec 2017
Interview
After a first chat with the HR, I was asked to attend the interview at Ebay HQ. I received a warm welcome from 2 team leader who told me how much they were impressed about my CV, how much they were happy to meet all together and so on - actually I thought it was part of a "script" they use to say to everyone because I didn't expect that type of enthusiasm!
But the more the intervew moved forward the more I felt confident to succeed because the 2 interviewers looked very interested about my answers and my attitude, so at the end the interview too more than the 1H sheduled and I said to myself "great performance, I have really highlithed my unique selling points this time".
However one week later I reveived an automatic email where they said I was not selected but the worse thing is that YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE REASON WHY! So I decided to write a kind email to the recruiter asking for the main reason(s) I didn't succeed for my purpose - so that I could gain something by this experiece. Well, I never received any feedback even I sent the email twice. And the number they called from was anonymous.
Also, the 2 team leaders I have tried to contact via Linkedin didn't accept my contact - I don't know if they scare about me at this point that it would be ridicolus as I only aim to get a feedback!
At the end, without any feedback, I can't say the experience worth it because it doesn't help to calibrate my next steps.
I will keep my Amazon account "active" :)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Experience, Skills, How do you react to concrete situations like asking to buy a specific service or to increase an item stock to a merchant etc.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA)
Interview
People in eBay think they know everything and ask question. They don't listen properly to the other person view. They will expect an answer and the funniest thing is they want only that answer (though there are N ways to solve). Such a bad experience I had.
